Im not sure what to say to you, other than that if your serious you need more help than a therapist that is obviously full of shit. You need some full time care until you feel back to normal, i would suggest a phsyc (sp?) hospital. And that other post was right, consider adoption.

You need to call your doctor (psychiatrist or psychocologist) right now and let her know what's going on now. If you can't reach them, call your OB/Gyn. They can easily arrange for you to either start new meds or adjust what you are currently taking. There is no reason for you to suffer this way. Call now.

Maybe you should talk to your doctor and see a diffrent shrink. Just relax and think it out carefully. Your hormones act crazy while your pregnant. Hopefully after the baby is born your feeling will change to a loving careing mother to your child. Just how that 7 year old acts doesnt really mean your baby will act like that when he/she is 7 years old. If you still feel the way you do when its almost time to give birth maybe you should put your child up for adoption to a family who will give the baby what he/she needs. Good luck to you.

Yes, talked to te ob and asked for the referal to the shrink. I just need help getting through the pregnancy. I have no desire to harm the child. I just am at a loss as to how to deal with this and all I get are Dr telling me "you'll be fine"

maybe you should have started birth control before you got pregnant. Suicide isn't a quick fix.

NOT DEFENDING what she has said BUT, realize ppl that depression can do some really messed up things to a person. Dont need to call her a freak. Depression is a serious issue. One that caused my own mother to kill herself. The OP DEFINITELY needs to seek some medical attention and consider adoption. But name calling and being harsh is probably not the best thing to do to a person who is already obviously not in a stable state of mind.

I would say that adoption is going to be your best option. And you need to get help for depression NOW.

She's not a freak. It just sounds like her hormones have gone completely out of whack. The nurse that runs my prenatal/lamaze class says that you can develop post partum depression during pregnancy, and maybe this is whats going on. Keep going to your therapist, and talking about your feelings. You are doing the right thing by reaching out to people for help.

obviously, if you killed yourself, you'd harm your baby.

Seriously, were adults here. No reason to make a bad situation worse with name calling.

He loves kids and doesnt understand. I told him I will be moving out as soon as the baby is born.

Pregnancy isn't easy and emotions run high....they did especially for me during my 1st trimester. I still have days where I'm extremely depressed...not to the point of suicidal, but depressed none-the-less. It's understandable to feel overwhelmed and upset, especially if you had no intention of getting pregnant. Just try to take it one day at a time and as the time gets closer for your little one to arrive, hopefully you'll be able to think more clearly about what you want. I don't think it's wrong to want to terminate your parental rights...I think that giving your child a chance at life and giving him/her to someone who will love them is very admirable. You're not the only one that's ever felt this way. Hang in there!
