Why do you feel that the government would want to unnecessarily burden smoking parents by restricting their right to smoke in their car if there weren't enough evidence that secondhand smoke harms? I'm curious. I'm all for a good conspiracy theory, but this one's gonna have to involve a seriously complicated plot.

it doesnt mean EVEY child around smoke will get them but it is more likely to cause ear infections than NOT being around smoke-- and I know what you mean about the govt' telling us what to do- i think the Ohio law they passed about not smoking in ANY place of business is screwed up- you can't even smoke in your OWN home based business during business hours - how whacked is that!?? lol if your customers dont like the smoke let them decide if they want to do business in your home as your client or not-lol

So do you think female circumcision should be legal?

Because cars are not where it started. Smoking has been gradually banned in a lot of places through the years. The car with the windows down is a LOT better then at home in a enclosed area like at home but they are only trying it with cars right now. I know secondhand smoke is bad but everythign is always "bad" accourding to something.

Exactly! If it was one thing here and there the thats different but this just keeps getting bigger and bigger and WAY out of control.

Different topic all together but it has been proven 100% to destroy the girls ability to have a normal, healthy, enjoyable sex life. Smoking has NOT been proven 100% to do anything. Yes, it causes problems but not 100% of the time like the female circumcision.

And you don't feel restricting smoking in public places is warranted?

Do you think the government is trying to fool everyone into thinking smoking and second hand smoke is dangerous?

Going without a seatbelt has not been proven to cause problems 100% of the time. In fact, there are plenty of adults who were brought up not wearing seatbelts, and many more who did not ride in car seats.

But current research shows that it is safer to wear a seatbelt. And similarly, we know that second hand smoke causes heath problems. Whether or not these problems occur 100% of the time is irrelevant.

I said it was bad meaning dangerous yes BUT smoking should be up to the place of busisness. Their busisness and their customers. If someone doesnt like it then they dont have to go there. If it is a Government busisness then dont allow it but Private Busisnesses it should be up to them.

When getting into a accident not wearing a seatbelt WAS proven 100% to cause problems. It was proven 100% that the injuries were not as bad when wearing a seatbelt.

Not even half of all smokers have smoking related health problems.

I just see it totally differently. I see a smoker as someone introducing a toxic substance into the air, and if he/she wants to do it, he/she should be the one inconvenienced by having to avoid certain places, not health conscious patrons.

Again, do you think the government is trying to fool people into thinking smoking is harmful?

That is totally up to the busisness. They would be the ones losing customers so in turn they WOULD be inconvenienced. Those who dont want to be around it do not have to go there. If it was the majority then the place would either be forced to change their policy or go out of busisness so then there wouldnt be any issue.

It "can" be harmful. Majority of the time it is not even though it can be. It may be close but its still not the majority. Thats what I am saying.Just like allergies it does not affect everyone.
