Epidurals

posted 16th Jun
Some people have a lot of questions about epi's,
I for one have had 3, I will be having another one in a week. Generally i am told they do not hurt. However it has been my experiance that they do in fact have a slight "pain" to them. There is a discomfort factor that makes me "feel"

i thought it was painless and a stupendous drug that i would do again in a heart beat if need be! but i have back aches where they administered it and from giving birth! i am a fan though! next baby i "plan" to go pain-med. free like i planned for with my son but i had wicked bad back labor! and at 8cm. i wanted the epi!

Epidurals are amazing, it doesnt hurt at all to get it in (just a little sting for the numbing). It seriously made L&D a "breeze", and I was in labor for 24 hours.

The only sensation I felt from the epi is the coldness of the medication in my spine but that wasnothing compared tomy contractions. I am for 100% going to have another if I feel I need it. The one thing I didn't like about it is it slowed my dialation. I got it at 6 1/2 cmand stayed at 6 1/2 cm for about 3-4 hours!!!

Same here. I first felt the meds in my back, it just felt cold, and then I felt the sensation run down the back of my legs, and in minutes I was totally numb and my contractions completely dissapeared!

I didn't feel it at all. I was in too much pain from the contractions to even begin to feel that needle.
