See that is just as much the parents fault though. My oldest has ADHD but I will not let the school change any of her things or even monitor her meds. Thats my job and she WILL be in regular classes treated as a regular kid. I dont even think I will inform the school about her ADHD.

Now, when they took some of the school kids here to the community center to play I was got SOO pissed off. The kids wouldnt leave mine alone even trying to pick my son up and the teachers werent doing anything. I dont like having to get onto other peoples kids but I ended up spending close to an hour constantly telling kids to leave my son alone. He may be small but he can play on the equipment just as well as they can.

Well he had the kinda parents that weren't really involved in the first place, they just did whatever the teachers said they should without questioning it. So yes they are just as responsible.

That explains it. I plan on being very involved in my kids schooling even making sure I know all their teachers. I have seen parents be one sided and believe a teacher over the kid when the teacher was actually wrong and I wont allow that to happen. Hell, if my kid even says someone is picking on them you can bet I will "visit" the school to see for myself and make sure I speak with the kids parents and ALL faculty as needed. I personally think public school can be a GREAT thing but thats dependent on the parents making sure it stays enjoyable. My daughter does homeschooling now and has for a while but I feel homeschooling will give her something constant to look forward to because she has always wanted to go since she was old enough to talk.

my friend that had the issue with school and her daughter. She had to get a lawyer to get anyhting done. And since it was a "personal" situation they could not give her the info of what kid was doing things to her. All they ended up doing was changinf him to another school to assult other kids. Instead of getting CPS involved.
It is horrible to see what the school and the super intendents did. which was nothing.

That "personal" situation is in fact a "legal" situation which they should have been informed of. I personally would have filed charges on the school to in turn file charges on the boy who was doing it.

It is one things to charge a child that knows what they are doing. but a 5 yr old I agreed with her to have a sexual assault charge follow him around when he obviously needed help.
Legaly since she is not allowed to know who the child was all she could do was threten to take it to the news to expose the district on how they handle things and that is when all they did was transfer him. (that is what her attourney said)
That it is not up to the school to make the family get him councelling or the schools responsibility to inform CPS. They just have to seperate the kids from one another.

Thats why you charge the school for allowing it and sue the school for the name. Legally it was her child that was victimized so legally yes she has a right to know who the child is. Legally she has the right to charge the person no matter their age for the crime they commited.

no what I am saying is charging a child for something that they are not aware is truly wrong. I agree with her and could not do that. he is 5.
I would rather know that you can make CPS come in and evaluate why he does what he does but they can not do that.

With his age it wouldnt go on his record (I'm sure they didnt tell her that because normally they wont because they dont want to do anything) However, it does make him go to family court and therefore get a court order for counseling and gets CPS fully involved in the childs care.

either way it still goes back to what our schoold districts are like and what I don't want my daughter apart of. still leads back to the same answer and the reason of the forum. Wanting to know more info about home schooling

Not all school are like that and with one like that it really takes parents pushing the rules and laws to make it better. The first school I went to was great in everyway. The second was one kind of like that one and it was awful. When I switched schools twice after that I had two wonderful schools.

personally to have my child skipping schools to find one that can teach her is frustraiting as well.
She learns a lot like me and I have yet to meet a teacher who understands that open concepts and a quiet room is needed to reflect and understand and get thoughts strait.
i was rejected many times becuase I could do the work but not take the test's. I always was refered to as a problem and I felt bad and would shut down and I still see this today even with her pre-school and with my nephews in their classes.
She can learn better at home. Plus still have her outside activities and social groups.

also I am just looking for pros and cons but true legit reasons for not home schooling. Not just because they are not social enough. She is a social butterfly.

And I need additional information to follow forward and know where to start and support from others who know inside about home schooling. Not to bash the school district here and the one next to us

Pros and Cons depend on the kid. I wanted to homeschool but its not what my daughter wants. She wants to"learn" withother kids and not on her own with me. It can be good and it can be bad. Personally I would let them decide what they want and what is best for them because truely only they know.
