Our car caught on fire

Hi everyone,

Last week my family and I were returning from New Orleans when our Buick Rendezvous stalled on the interstate. My husband pulled over and got out to inspect, and found that the entire bottom of the car was on fire.

We got the kids out as fast as we could and got away from the car, and some strangers pulled over and happened to have jugs of water in their car. They and my husband managed to get the fire out. Thank God we were all fine, but our car was totaled.

I wanted to let everyone know in case anyone drives a Buick...apparently there has been several recalls on defective parts and fires are a risk in these vehicles. If you drive a Buick, please look into this.

That would have scared me outta my mind!!! I'm glad that everyone is ok, but I'm really sorry that you lost your car!! Will your insurance cover replacing it, or will the car company pay for some of it at least??
We used to have a buick and I was recently missing it , but now that I've read this I'm glad that we traded it in ...I would go nuts if something like this happened w/ my baby in the car!!

Yes, the insurance is paying for everything minus the $500 deduct.

Damn.. im sorry about your car. We rented one of those once when we were on vacation. I'm glad everyone is ok!

That's awful! I'm glad you all are ok though!

That is horrible. I am happy you and you family are safe though and no one was injured. It sure could of been a lot worse. I would be so scared!

whew !! That is good that the insurance will cover it ..I just hope your rates don't end up increasing..
