BF/Hubby Absent at Birth

posted 16th Jun
Hi my name is Kristin and I am expecting my first baby January 12. My boyfriend is very excited too but he recently took the border test and passed. I was very excited because its a much better job than he has now and it has awesome benefits. Well when i found out i was pregnant in early May he was just finishing filling out some work expierence paperwork and mailed it in at the beginning of this month. They called him last week and said that he should be receiving a 60 day notice in the next month or twoto leave to New Mexico for training for 4 months! Which means he would miss the birth of our baby. Of course I was really upset about this and I know in the long run its for the best and better yet, I wouldnt have to work and could stay home with the baby but I dont know if i could do this without him and take care of the baby by myself for a month or two! Please, if anyone has gone through this situation before, please let me know what to do and how to deal!

I will admit, I am not in that situation but just stay strong. Your baby needs you to be strong. I will pray that you and your family are okay and all goes well. Good luck.

My husband's been gone since May and won't be back until the very beginning of July and of course that had to be when I'm due. It will be ok especially if you have some family or friends around you to kind of keep your mind off everything. I came down from Washington to stay with my in-laes so that I would have support and I'm still able to email my husband so there's some contact.

You never know...he may be able to get special leave or something that will allow him to come back for the baby's birth. Just keep your head up and don't stress.

You'll be fine. You just have to believe that you can do it.

My husband was away for 2 years. I raised my 2 year old alone, then had my youngest and raised her alone til she was 8 months old. My husband wasn't present for the birth either.

Obviously it won't be a cake walk....but it'll be worth is. And you'll be that much stronger for it.

Good luck!

Was there any way you could've been induced?? My dr said she would induce me anytime I wanted as long as it was past 35 weeks. Then again my baby's kinda big...lol.

i saw something on the news about a guy in iraq that got to watch the whole thing on webcam. if he cant be there, at least you can see/talk to eachother! i kno its not the same as him actually being there, buit it's better than having to tell him about it later.
good luck.
