Doctor visits?

posted 16th Jun
I'm just curious as to when you guys first visited the doctor. I'm a little over 11 weeks and haven't went yet(Medicaid is taking it's precious time). I'm not sure if that's normal or not...

You shouldn't have to wait for Medicaid to kick in, they usually pay for anything from when you first applied. I had my first visit at 8 weeks I think....but my dr doesn't usually see patients until they are 12.

I was 15 weeks, or right at it. But you should be seeing the nurse or something in his office now so that you can get your prenatals and all that stuff.

Yeah 12wks is pretty normal for most people. I usually go at 8wks for my first - dont' sweat it your not missing out on anything other than getting a LOT of blood drawn and peeing in a cup and getting weighed! Nothing to exciting happends until the 12ks! You will or should get to hear your baby's heart beat for the first time! So thats always really exciting! I cried my eyes out!

I first went at 18 weeks. Luckily the baby was ok, but I don't recommend it... Go in as soon as you can. Usually medicaid covers you from the first of the month that you go in.

I waited till 9 weeks, but a few of my friends who had to wait for Medicaid couldn't go until they wereout of the first trimester. See if your doctor will see you for an initial visit soon and see if you can get a discounted rate of some sort until Medicaid goes through. And yeah, if you pay for it, just send it to Medicaid and they will reimburse you.

I called my OB when I found out i was preggo. I was like 6 weeks but they said they dont see you till your about 14 weeks after the risk of miscarage unless you are haveing problems. So i went at about 14 weeks for my first visit.

I had my first at 9 weeks but they couldn't hear the heartbeat. At the next one when I was 13 weeks you could hear it! It's not too big a deal as long as your are taking prenatals. But get in soon.

Well it also depends on ur state too and whether or not its your first pregnancy. The doctor i went to waits also til you're 12weeks but they get you in sooner if its your first pregnancy.

not where I live. They want you 'over the hump' as they say, reguardless to which pregnancy it is. I think it's BS.
