Reflux.

During my pregnancy, I have gotten painful heartburn once or twice. Now though, it's like I get heartburn without the pain. I get just reflux. It feels like puke is coming up my throat, and I can taste it. I get a horrible taste in my mouth. Tums help it, but I just think it's odd. Am I the only one?

No I have it BAD. If it gets that bad ask Dr about it, some women on here got prescriptions, but mine told me nothing =/ Oh and Rolaids didn't help for me...for futrure referrence. =) I carry the TUMS bottle with me everywhere I go!!

Same here. I have one in my car in my purse and next to my bed lol

Tums are pretty much like candy to me right now.

I had acid reflux pretty bad before I got pregnant and my pregnancy jsut intensified it by like 1000 lol. My dr. gave me a prescription medicine that I take everyday and I am on a strict no grease diet. But mine is really bad. If yours bothers you too much you might talk to ur doctor about prescribing you something. Oh and DONT drink water when your havin it, it makes it really bad. Before I got meds I just had to make myself throw it up or it would never go away.

I have it all the time especially when laying down to go to sleep.

My dr gave me a prescription, but I don't take it as often anymore which is pretty weird. I'll normally just suffer through it or sip on something until it doesn't bother me. It's pretty horrible though...I hate it. I really hope that once he comes out that's the end of it.

Maybe the water thing is why I get it so bad. I'll have to remember that.

Another thing is try not to eat too close to when you're going to bed, especially meats or things that take longer to digest. I usually dont eat for 5 hrs before bed, but mine is really bad. And if it bothers you at night, use two or more pillows to keep your head elevated so the acid can go down instead of back and forth in your esaphogus. If you dont like extra pillows you can put a piece of board under your mattress to kinda raise it up. Hope this helps!

I was so hungry last night before I went to bed and knew if I didn't eat I would be sick to my stomach. So I made myself a piece of toast and an egg. I went to bed about 2 hours later....then of course I had to take my prenatal right...with some water. I woke up suddenly an hour or so later because I had urp in my mouth. UCK I tell ya. I should have had another pillow under my head. LOL You never saw a rolly polly preggo chick sit up so fast! LOL ((hugs)) The good news...it gets better. The bad news...not until after delivery. LOL *wahhh*

urp.. haha! I can not eat eggs because thats what the acid looks like when it comes out... a nasty egg yolk 

Zantac was OKed by my doctor and it's over the counter and it works like you would never believe! I used to have Tums all the time but they just made me constipated and the bad feeling came right back. But Zantac is like manna from heaven to me. You only need to take one tiny pill and it will help for hours and hours! (I sound like a commercial but this stuff seriously rules)
