To Know, or Not To Know

I was just wondering how many parents wanted or didn't want to know the sex of their baby before they were born.

With Grayson, Kevin and I were 17. Being so young, with so little money, we thought it would be best to find out if the baby was a boy or a girl, just so we could be as prepared as possible. There was no second guessing the decision, and it worked out best for us. Now that I'm pregnant again, we're faced with a similar dilemma. Only this time, we're not so sure. We're a couple years older now, with steady jobs, a stable situation, and we're generally solid on our feet. Sometimes I think it would be fun to keep the baby's gender a surprise, but between Kevin and I, we change our minds a million times a day. It wont be much longer before we'll be able to find out if we wanted, but we're not sure.

Did you (or do you) want to know? Did your mind change with the second, third, etc. children? And what was your reasoning? Just something that's on my mind.

I wanted to know for sure, but my husband didn't want to know at all.

I wanted to know, but HE didn't so we agreed to have fun and let it be a surprise. Now the idea has kinda grown on me so it's not that bad at all =) It can be a little bit of a hassle but we've managed to find everything in nuetral colors, including the furniture, room, and bedding set. People did it for hundreds of years....

I wanted to know with my last two pregnancies but for our next pregnancy we will keep it a surprise.

I definately wanted to know!! I don't have the patience to wait 9 months not knowing what I'm having but hey if you can hold out 9 months and want to have a complete surprise I say go for it.. it'll be well worth it

I didn't know with my first 2 and it was really neat hearing it's a girl and being so shocked, and with my 3rd i wanted to know! The only thing was i still ended up with a surprise cause what was suposse to be my 3rd little girl came out a little boy haha. So i was surprised all 3 times and loved it!

I don't know if I'm patient enough for 9 months, haha! Kevin doesn't think he needs to know, because he's utterly convinced that it's another boy. I guess with such a psychic in the house, I need not bother finding out.

i find out on saturday and im soo impatient . I cant imagine waiting so many months . It is a wonderful suprise , and if you could hold it that long then u should wait .

With my first i was 16, and wanted to know, and after 5 ultrasounds we finally found out at 32/33 weeks it was a boy. With my second, i tried to find out, had 4 ultrasounds, but she was stubborn and we didnt find out she was a girl until she was born...

i kind of wanted to be surprised, but my fiance absolutely did not. i was thinking about what i wanted to do when the time came, but before i could even make up my mind our stupid ass u/s technician gave us a very early hint.  she guessed girl at 14 weeks and whattyaknow, she was right. at that point i decided to just confirm it at 17 weeks cause i had to know for sure. i wasn't going to go through my entire pregnancy wondering if i could bank on her assumption or not. the next baby will DEFINATELY be a surprise. my fiance is saying no way already, but i just want to be surprised. he can find out, he just better not ruin it for me  

We didn't find out. We wanted it to be a surprise. We bought everything in neutral colors. Except for the picture to be taken at the hospital, I bought both a girls and boys outfit. Then returned the wrong one later. Waiting the 9 months was a wonderful surprise!!

my boyfriend would KILL some one to find out ..lol
our appointment is july 2nd and im literally counting the days but for some reason a few nights ago i thought ...wouldnt it be a little fun to wait ....im gonna tell him today , hes probably gonna look at me like im crazy lol but ..we'll see

it's super hard while youre pregnant, but i think it's DEFINATLY worth the surprise.

same reason im 17 so i would like to be as prepared turns out we are having a little girl and just our luck i have a three your old and one year old sis so i get to have akll the handmidowns.. i think it worked out good
