Hi new here with 2 toddlers

I am Amber and I am the mother of 2 toddlers one is 4 and has a blood disorder called ITP. The other one is 2 1/2 and is very delayed in development. We are working to try to find an answer as to why she is so delayed. She didnt roll over until 8 months. and it all went down from there. She gets therepy twice a week from birth to three. I hope to be a friend and make some friends, give some advice and get some.

I wanted to let you know I am from GON. I was not going to join until I saw another mother post that she has a child with ITP and I hope I can be of some help to her if she needs it. I will not cause drama nor do I want any. Thank you for reading

I'm confused when I read this in your post about your youngest:

Did you know she was developmentally behind at birth?

My nephew was developmentally behind and sometimes he would do things and then regress(?). They never figured out what's wrong with him either. He is 10 now & is fine, he just has a speech problem and some ADHD issues... anger, things like that. Developmentally fine though. They didnt realize he had a problem until he was like 1 1/2.

What I was saying is at 8 months she had not rolled over, she didnt walk until 17 months, I think lol. but anyway her dr would not listen to me when I kept asking about her development. He would tell me I worried to much. I contacted a program here called WV Birth to Three. They have gotten her evaled. and she is delayed in cognitive. receptive, adaptive, she has total body muscle weakness, She learned how to feed herself with a spoon and within a few months she had forgotten how to do that. We are not sure what is going on. At birth there was some problems when I had her. Then at 18 days old she was amitted to the hospital with RSV and then developed bacterial pnumiona, She has been going to a neruologist and she had a MRI at the end of the month and we will be going to get the results in a few weeks, she is doing better but still has alot of problems. My nephew would do the same thing, he would do something, then after a week or two, forget how to do it. He would say words all day long, and then a few weeks later, wouldn't say those same words. There were other things he would do and then "forget" how to do later. But, like I said, he is fine now. He has some problems, but for the most part, a very happy 10 yr old.

I have a friend who's son had major muscle delays, He stopped growing at about 5/6 months during her pregnancy. He didn't leard to scoot until almost 2, and started crawling with his belly off the ground at around 4/5. He is now 7 and can pull himself to a standing positon with support, they don't know why and can't find any reasons for it. He also has a major speech delay...

What is ITP?

ITP is an auto immune dis, it causes her body to make antibodies against her platelets, Normal palatelet count is 140k to 450k and her stays under the 140k mark, anytime she gets sick they drop way lowuntilshe has to have ainfusionofplasma. She has had this for 2 yearsnow. There is avery big risk of bleeding to death from a hit to the head or stomach. When her count is low she lays around and will not play and she will have bruises from head to toe. Then if they go even lower shewill get these tiny spots that arecalled something i cant spell LOL and we call them freckle bruises. Thank God her counts havebeen good lately withjust a few scary counts.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. It is managable though. Thats good. How old is your other child?
