Your baby && pow wow's

Well there was a pow wow here today .
The drum group, the dancers and the emcee loved Nia.
The emcee would occasionally drum with the drum group and would take Nia wth him.
She absolutly LOVED it . She didn't flinch once .
Once the song was over, she'd start singing to herself.

The hoop dancer made her a mini-drum for her &&
The lead drummer gave me CD for her. [He was hot btw  ]

Today was just great.
Just thought Id share  


Have you taken your child[ren] to a pow wow?
How did they react to it ?

I haven't && I'm not sure if I would or not. He doesn't really like loud noises

You'd be suprised.
I thought Nia would freak when Niso [the emcee] took her to the drum , but she absolutly loved it.
On the way home from the pow wow, she was singing .

I love pow wow's. Reggie and I were thinking of following the pow wow trail this summer. But I gotta work so we were thinking next summer.

We're at pow wow's a lot though.

There's only one here every year .
&& we have to travel about 3 hours to get to the nearest one usually .

I'm assuming you're a NA, so which tribe are you from?

My older brother will sing to my son and he just loves it (he's a drummer.) I have yet to take him to a pow wow yet. But for sure this summer, DAMN you just made me crave an indian taco.

I live in northern ontario .

I'm Cherokee, but we don't practice any of the traditions. My grandmother and her sisters did but once my grandmother died they stopped attending their pow wow's. It would be awesome to have my children be around the culture.

My family doesn't go to pow wow's but my boyfriend, his family and I do.
They're fantastic.
I don't dance though, I think I want to though. soon
I gotta get my teachings though
