What would you do with 50,000$

My husband's best friend has inherited 9 million dollars from a friend of his who had been killed while serving in Iraq. Well, yesterday I found out he was giving us 50,000 and my husband said his friend is also planning on buying us a house.. In the next few weeks! I nearly had a heart attack! So ladies, I gotta ask what would you do with 50,000.00 dollars?! I think we are going to clean up our debt and up the rest in a savings account. He also promised I could take 2,000 and go shopping. This all just very surreal.

WOW thats so crazy! But yet nice for you! i would do the same thing as you, clean up all past debt and then go shopping a little, and save the rest, These days you need to save with the economy changing so much.

I would get rid of any debt and put it in a savings account to build interest.

Oh my gosh...  I dont even know what i'd do with 50k...pay off debt for sure...I'd probably die before I figured out what to do with it

I was gonna say put most of it into a house... but it sounds like that's covered too so.... I'd probably do the same as you plan. debt,savings, and maybe a lil shopping/redecorating. Sorry about your friends loss..

Yeah, he was here last night with his fiance.. And I was like guys really keep your money.. and he told me to shut up and get over it! lol. He gets his 9 million on Monday.. and all he keeps saying is we are getting ours ASAP. He's giving ALL of his friends ATLEAST 50k.. He said we may get more he has to balance everything out and see. I nearly died!

im going to be getting a good bit of money soon, and we plan on fixing our credit so we can get a house in the future.

Pay off anything that needed to be. credit cards, cars, things like that. Then just put the rest in savings.

better gas mileage?? Emmm...I'd go for an electric!

I would pay a huge chunk on my house payment to make the payment lower and buy a breand new mini van and enjoy life with a lower payment on my crib!!!
