Grandma or dad breastfeeding ur son?

posted 13th Jun
I always visit www.popsugar.com which is a celebrity gossip website and came up with this short story the writer wrote about a friend and here is goes:

"A close friend of mine just returned from a trip to Italy with her five-month-old son, husband and his family. All was well under the Tuscan sun until the last day of their vacation when her mother-in-law asked to hold the baby while they were out by the pool.

My friend obliged, but was shocked when she turned to check on them moments later. The granny had one boob out and was attempting to nurse her grandson. She chuckled and said, "Oh that one's not working. Let's try this one!" before switching the infant to the other breast where he suckled her nipple.

To find out how my friend handled the bizarre situation, read more.

Dumbfounded, my friend laughed and snapped a picture with her phone. In disbelief, she asked her husband if he could believe what his mother was doing when he walked outside. He was equally stunned and speechless.

When my friends told the grandfather (husband to the nursing grandma) about his wife's actions, he shrugged it off at first. But then confronted his wife saying, "Honey, did you really try to breastfeed the Bambino?" Abashedly she replied, "I'm not going to talk about it anymore! All I will say is that it was a good bonding experience for both of us!"

There aren't enough words to describe how I would feel if this happened to me. But these emotions come to mind — shock, disgust, anger, betrayal and confusion. I would be most concerned with my son having nipple confusion — what if he had rejected the mother's breast after having been introduced to another woman's bosoms? I'd also be disturbed by my mother–in–law's decision to try to breastfeed him. Obviously she was incapable of producing milk on a first time basis, but engaging in the act itself seems odd.

Does this story leave you feeling disturbed as well?"

Just came across this and want to add it:

Would You Want Your Husband to Use the Man Boob?

"It was disturbing enough to hear about grandma trying to nurse her grandson, but can you imagine if grandpa pulled the same stunt with a man boob that Jack Byrnes (Robert De Niro) did in Meet the Fockers?

Men are actually capable of breastfeeding. While it's certainly not common practice, I wonder how many males would be willing to give it a go. I'm not sure how I'd feel if my husband wanted to nurse our child. While it may be biologically possible, I just don't think I could get used to the idea. Even if he used the man–boob device pictured above. Unless there was a medical reason for doing so. A bottle of breastmilk in my hubby's hand seemed to work well enough."

What are your thoughts on male nursing?

How would you feel if it were you?

If my MIL tried to do that I would seriously kick her ass.  I mean I really would.  That is so disgusting and I don't know why MIL and mothers try to act like they are your baby's mom.  It really pisses me off

I would shit myself if my grandmother tried to breastfeed Brenden. I would be so disgusted. We'd probably never be on speaking terms again. Ever.

I think the man boob idea is awesome! Bonding time with daddy! And the MIL thing is pretty gross to me. My mom was telling me that her breasts started to make milk when Toula was coming over often and crying..and that pretty much grossed me out. Made me mad as well..because she was so proud of it.The way I think of it..my mom gave birth to me, and I gave birth to my children..so I can understand where she'd feel part mommy (kind of) as well. However, I'd throw up if I saw her trying to breastfeed my little angel.

why can't the man hold a bottle and have that same bonding??
that seems absurd to me.

and as far as the MIL..ummm my first thoguht is maybe she is senile and suffering from Altzheimers...but if she isn't then it is even more disturbing...a woman knowingly not lactating has no reasons to put a baby to her breast..unless she is a sicko
