Late m/c or early stillbirth

Preparing for the worst I guess. If your baby died in utero prior to 20 weeks and didn't pass naturally what happened? I am looking for people who had m/c after 12/13 weeks. D&C? D&E? If you had an early stillbirth like 20-30 weeks what happened then? D&E? Induced labor?
I didn't think to ask any of these questions today and I am curious. Obviously with Ryan he was a full grown baby and I was induced.

Are you having problems that you think it will happen?

awww.. Jenell... it makes me super sad that you are having to even ask these questions...  

after 20 wks they make you deliver, because they can induce labor, but under 20 wks they usually do a D&C.
i asked my OB cause i was afraid something had happened to Faylynn



**edited to say, it all depends on the fetal size, i'm guessing.

I didn't think to ask the doctor and now I am stressing about it.

I knew a girl who had her daughter when she was 18 weeks and she went through a whole L&D Process, but I'm thinking it might be different for everyone depending on fetal size?

I had a mc at 16 weeks but went into labor and delievered him. I was in labor for 32 hours they were going to do a d&c because they didnt want me to get an infection, but after I got the epi I had him so they didnt have to do it.

my aunt is a NICU nurse and she has babies with hydrops fetalis and they go home perfect and healthy!!
dont look down on this, your little one'll pull through  
don't ask questions that'll make you sad.
it's not good for your baby

thank you. It was horrible. From the side it is a giant bubble. She wasn't going to give me any fluid shots but I asked so she gave me those. She literally printed off 20 pictures for me. It was very nice of her.

I just can't imagine after seeing the baby move and possibly (depending on gestational age) feeling them move to have a D&C. *sigh* I will just have to wait and see I guess.

Im am so very sorry hun....

My sister lost a baby at 21 weeks and she actually went into labor naturally because her cervix was very thin. So she ended up going thru the whole laboring process which didnt take long and then she had to push him out.

Thank you! The thing that worried me most was the doctor telling me to prepare to have a dead baby when I go to have my amnio. Also I found some info on it that says 50% of unborn babies die and 50% of living babies die. Those aren't really good odds

I begged them not too because he was still alive up untill I had him, so I'm so glad I was able to deliever him, I would have felt horrible otherwise

That's what I am thinking. I am glad you were able to have him naturally. I would probably have nightmares about the D&C for months.
