re: Newborn Baby's Hair when they first come out

I'm 80% black and my husband is black
My baby girl has curly hair, I can brush it straight while its wet but once it's wet it curls up, so that's not true that all babies come out with straight hair, my mom said my hair was straight for couple of days and then it waved up...but I think people thing the baby hair is straight because the hospital puts a hat on the baby and that lays the hair down...but every since I came home from the hospital if I don't brush kamri's hair down it stays curly...

My daughter is half black and her hair came out super straight. She's a month old and has a few waves and curls but it's still pretty straight. A lot of mixed race children start out with straight hair. It then usually curls up a least a little.

As far as skin color it depends who your baby takes after...kamri took after me as far as skin color..I looked like a white baby....they tried to tell my mama she had the wrong baby and the I got a little darker over time now about beyonce color and my daughter she actually came out lighter than me and with blueish-gray eyes, I came out with dark gray, now my eyes are hazel, they change colors some times....it's like she took after me but everything was enhanced...I was surprised because my husband genes are strong and she has a lot of his features and they say she looks like him until they see my newborn pics

A lot of mixed race babies do darken later. My little girl was born with a slight tan and she has already darkered a little.my husband who is full black was born lighter and darkend when he got older. My mil says you can look around a babies fingernail beds and see whay color they will end up. My lo finger nail beds are a mocha color so I'm guessing that's what color she will be.
