re: Newborn Baby's Hair when they first come out

Not for nothing but Asians have a dominant gene. So dont be surprised if your baby has your looks and hair for that matter.

it's usually so short that it doesn't have room to curl. my fiance and i both have super curly hair and our daughter's is straight. she's 1 month old now and it sort of looks like it's getting a little wave to it. there's really no telling what your baby will inherit. but it's such a neat surprise when they arrive

Oh yeah, I have another friend that is mixed (Korean and black) and her hair is very thick and curly. I dont know what it was like when she was first born though.

Thanks for all the replies ladies! I've always thought she was gonna end up with curly hair because of daddy, but he kept on insisting all babies are born with pretty much straight hair or wavy at most, but not curly, so just wanted to know if that's true or not, since all the newborn babies I've seen in person are Asian with stick straight hair.

Another question: Are babies usually born with lighter skin then darken over time? That's what he's telling me too. Again, I don't really mind how she will end up when she's older, but just curious what to expect when she's born. Thanks again!

sum babies do and sum babies dont..it all depends..then your baby is goin to be mixed.not all mixed babies are light skinned..my lil sister is half black and half mexican and we're the same color...so it jus depends..not all babies are the same!

My husband is from africa and our baby came out with tons of straight black hair. When he gets a bath his hair turns curly but then it will go straight on its own again.

My daughter is half chinese and white. Her hair is straight like mine but shes only 4 months so its kind of hard to tell now. Her daddy's baby pics that i have all show that he had straight hair but towards 4-5yrs old is when you can see that its somewhat curly. He also was born with blue eyes and blonde hair and it changed to hazel and brown. Lately ive notice that her hair has gotten much lighter too. So in my opinion, you really wont know until your baby is a little older.

So I'm gathering that babies are generally born with straighter hair and get curlier over time (if at all); and born lighter then get darker over time. I guess he wasn't lying to me then, LOL.

There's no telling how my little girl will grow up looking like, but I just wanted to know the general trend of how non-Asian newborn babies look like since I've never seen one in person. All I know is my little sisters looked like little red goldfishes when they were born.
