Bottle rot happens more when the child is left to hold the bottle in their mouth when they aren't drinking I think. I have seen a few children working in child care with bad bottle rot and most of them were often left to fall asleep with the bottle still in their mouth or had juice in them on occasion

But if theres still like residual breastmilk in her mouth can that rot her teeth?

My son is 4 and nursed on demand day and night til 18mo.

He didnt brush after night nursing.

He has GORGEOUS white teeth. He even tells me my teeth are a little bit yellow now. An if unforgettable to brush them now (random crazy night like tonight) he will go brush himself and then tell me his teeth are clean and ready for bed.

We brush every night and most mornings. The dentist loves his gorgeous bright white smile

If it is an active feeding, it isn't much to worry about. Bottle rot is usually from milk being allowed to just sit in the mouth without being swallowed. Having a little bit of residue left in her mouth and then regular care isn't going to cause it.

It could! That's why they tell people not to lay baby down with milk for sleep. ( besides the obvious choking hazard...)

That is awesome! Im also relieved to hear that the night nursing never affected his teeth

It CAN, but nursing babies tend to swallow cleaner (less residue than formula and the movement of nursing clears the mouth better than sucking a bottle, partially because the breast is pulled further to the back of the mouth/throat )

I wouldn't worry too much everyone either had breast milk or formula growing up and not everyone had bottle rot, she probably would swallow the majority of the residual milk

I'm still pretty regularly nightfeeding my 2.5 year old, I brush his teeth morning and night. They are gorgeous, no signs of decaying at all.
