Favorite names and opinons

I really like the name Vaida (Veda, Vada?). I think the correct spelling it Veda, but I'm sure most would pronounce it as Vee-da.

My husband hates the name, but I can't let it go. I love it. So what do you think about Veda/Vada/Vaida Louise? I really wanted to use the middle name James, my father's first name. I know a lot of people aren't in favor of using male/masculine names for girls, but it's still in my head.

Also, what are your thoughts on the name Zoey or is it Zoe? I also really like the name Elle, but it doesn't seem...complete?

I'm not pregnant, by the way. I just have baby fever.

I'm trying to stay away from common names, but these all seem pretty common or at least I'm hearing them more often now. I also don't want anything too out there and nothing youneek.

What are your favorite names, both girl and boy names?

Veda is the correct way. Vaida looks like a disease to me. Of your list, I love Zoe.

See my husband thinks Veda/Vaida/Vada sounds like a disease or a "vagina cream", he's never actually seen any variant of the spelling.

Zoe is the only name that we agree on. I don't hear it often and when I've seen it, it is spelled Zoey. It's hard to tell which spellings are correct and which ones aren't these days.

Zoe is the correct spelling. Zoe with two dots over the E is also correct.

Is Elle a legitimate name, though? I know I probably seem all over the place, but I hate looking at baby name websites. Half of the youneek names I've seen/heard are on them and I can't seem to find a legit site. Does anything have any suggestions for a website?

The only names to be aware of on there are the "modern" names. Some variant spellings are also incorrect.

we have Magnolia Jane (Maggie Jane) for our next daughter. i'm keeping my eye out for a 2nd middle name but unless one jumps out at me i'm not sweating it.

I really like Athena, Alessandra, Alexandria, Lorelei, and Lilani.

i've always liked Veda but DH said no. it's just a guilty pleasure that even if i could, i probably wouldn't use.

i think Zoe is cuter than Zoey for some reason.

for a boy we like Kieran Shawn and Cael William.

we both like Aries for a boy though. we're exploring and bouncing names around because we're thinking of ttc around the end of the yr.

Same here, we're thinking October is when we will start. It'd be nice to have a summer or fall baby, of course that's hoping that we're successful quickly. I hope we don't go into the summer still ttc because we already have Christmas, DS's birthday at the end of January, and then our anniversary in the middle of Feb. And...we have a lot of family members with birthdays in January, Feb, and March.

I think I've talked to you before or maybe I've just seen a post from you before, the name Magnolia sticks out and I don't know anyone with that name or anyone who has even mentioned it as a possibility IRL. I like it.

see i was thinking Nov- Dec. Oct or September at the earliest. DH is talking maybe sooner . if we get our check list done. depends on how long that takes. lol. we got pregnant at the beginning of Sept with DD. she was born 4 days after my mother's birthday.

it is possible that we've talked or you've seen my threads (i think i've made like 5-10 about it.   ). and thank you. i've only heard it twice. once in a game and the other idr. i've always wanted a Maggie but needed an "adult" name. Magnolia goes with DD's name Lillian (Lily). i wanted to do a flower theme.

DH and I had to come to a compromise. We're stable, but we live in an apartment. His (and my) ideal is to become home owners before having another child. Our goal for purchasing is to start at the end of this year and hopefully we will have something by Feb when our lease is up. Although it seems like buying that soon is a good possibility there are always set backs and I don't really do not want to go back a 5 year age gap. DS is 3 right now so it doesn't leave heaps of time, kwim?

i totally know what you meant! i really want more than 2 kids but don't want to spend 10 yrs raising babies! lol. DD will be 1 at the end of May. then after #2 we're going to wait till we move to Florida (we're waiting for his cousin who is 17 to turn 21 before we move- long story.)

right now we're paying off all the bills. then we're going to get the cars fixed, then some remodeling on the house. all before even starting ttc.

i'd also like DD to be potty trained or at least well on her way and walking 1st.

Wow! You have quite the check off list, lol.

Moving, for us, has gotten in the way over the years. I'm so over moving and all of it's set backs...unless it's moving into a home that we will be purchasing .

Between DH being in the military, getting out, and relocating again just last year it has definitely put a hold on a lot. Our original plan was to stay in this apartment for 2-3 years until DH becomes a Journeyman or Foreman, then purchase a home 2 hours away. But, his brother is a Journeyman, same company, and lives where we were originally planning to purchase. But, then my BIL's situation gave us a wake up call. He's a Journeyman, lives in the area we wanted to purchase in, and couldn't keep up on the gas bill so he ended up staying with us for close to a year. So it only makes sense to stay here, this is where the work is.

that makes a lot of sense. the checkoff list is for my piece of mind. our floors need redone and walls repainted. plus it keeps me from rushing into it. i have baby fever so bad though, i'd love to just go jump on DH right now. haha. but i have to be sensible. lol
