Help! Advice

posted 22nd Mar
I am sorry I have to fight with the US Naval Hosiptal in Okinawa tooth and nail for them to do anything..... They concluded it's not my cervix that was bleeding, So where is the clotting and the vaginal bleeding coming from? They can't answer that, or even waste there time on an ultrasound. I am losing blood clots for crying out loud for 4 days.. can't they at least check? Back home they did tests to find out what is wrong.. they don't. I have a history of kidney problems, and they wont even do a urinalysis. I am 34 weeks 4 days.... and I am scared for my baby... what worse is we are stationed overseas atm. so no chance of seeing a civilian doctor. With My oldest he was delivered at 40 weeks (with me getting sick and in the hospital for 3 weeks prior) and it was discovered I had group a TSS. and he was in the hospital for awhile afterwards.. They monitored my second child, closely and when I started getting sick they induced me, at 34 weeks and he was and is way healthier then his brother...... With this baby we moved and they wont do anything, even tests Advice?

First of all, ICE the crap out them & every doctor you saw. Secondly, go above their heads & contact the person in charge of OB at Naval.

When I had my son, I ended up with an emergency c-section.. I went in at 3:00AM, he was born at 3:10AM, and I was not rolled out of the OR or even closed up, for that matter, until 5AM. I ICE'd the crap out of them, the OB who did my c-section, and the nursing staff because they refused to answer my questions during and after. While I was in "recovery" no one would speak to me, no one would tell me how my son was doing, nothing.

Granted, this was at Lejeune, but still.. I received a very fast response from the woman who oversaw everything that has to do with OB & I met with her & the head of the hospital to discuss my experience and I finally got the answers I needed.

Thank you Abbie-

TXM- It's about how bad it is here... I told them I have a history of TSS and Kidney failer in my 3rd trimester. and sorry they should do tests to check for why I am losing blood clots. I am so mad and my husband is like "they are the doctor" They told me by 160/98 and two weeks later is was 157/94.. and the doctor is like "well it;s going down." to the point I had to do my own reserve on vitamins that would help lower it, and now it's 130/80 (which is high but not horrible) but will they do blood work or anything? no. It's annoying. I am so use to civilian doctors who made sure we were okay without a doubt and not being dismissed.

I must be moronic, but what does it mean to "ICE" someone? I tried googling it and all I came up with is when someone sees and hands someone an "Smirnoff Ice" they must get down to one knee and chug it. I am assuming that is not what you mean, lol.

Honestly? Military doctors, for the most part, are fairly quick to dismiss anything. If you're not running a fever, throwing up blood, or highly contagious, they aren't going to do much. Comforting? Absolutely not. True? Sadly, yes.

Your best bet is to see how high you can get on the food chain with them. This isn't a game, your health and your baby's health are at risk here & someone needs to acknowledge that & give you some answers.

Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE)

it's basically how we report Military doctors if they are giving poor care, since they can't get charged with malpractice

It how military families/members report doctors who are giving inadequate/poor care. Military doctors cannot be sued for anything that goes wrong/malpractice, they're protected for whatever reason.

Your right, they need to acknowledge and do something. It amazing to me how uncaring they are though, but like I said, I've always chosen to see civilian doctors or military.. and this time being in Okinawa, Japan, I can't. So I just have to fight with them to get the care for this baby

It's amazing to me, too. If given the opportunity, I always chose civilian over military. Naval at Lejeune and the way I was treated and the way my prenatal care was handled, is a huge reason why I don't want to have another child.

I really hope you get some clear, definitive answers and SOON!

I should have known that. I'm prior AD USAF and my husband is still in. lol Wow. I feel like I had a really dumb moment there. My apologies.
