It's not that far fetched... Vaginal exams aren't necessary. Especially at this stage, she's not due until Nov 5th.

I had one with my first the day before I was due, only because I was getting cervidil and being induced. Nobody ever stuck their fingers/hand inside my vagina with my 2nd.

I guess my doctor is awesome because I got to do my own GBS swabs, too. lol.

they did my GBS threw my urine at like 6 weeks and it was + because they tried to tell me i was 26 weeks and i knew that was wrong.... But i had not had a period so they just assumed that. At the high risk OB they let u do it you'r self, they told me they were not retesting and just gave me antibiotics in labor, they also dont check u in less ur in the hospital and think ur in labor...

I had bag exams every week after 35-36.

I have regular vag exams this time too. Every two weeks or less---but because I'm high risk and they must constantly monitor my cervix.

SOME docs don't check you til you're in labor.

And SOME docs let you do the GBS test yourself.

Not all. And it has nothing to do with high risk. My high risk doc does lots of vag exams because my condition requires my cervix to be checked.

And I thought I was clear that it had nothing to do with high risk at all by showing that high risk doctors don't all do things the same way. All doctors are individuals who work on a case by case basis.

Well... In your case... that just might work. There's plenty of room for it if nothing else. Next time, have the doc yell up to the baby and ask if he or she needs a magazine, maybe a nintendo DS, or even a fanta while the kiddo's chillin' in your womb.

I didn't get vag exams for them to check my cervix. They did a smurf ton of internal ultrasounds to measure the length of my cervix and stuff because of my disorder my cervix can thin out a lot sooner than it should, luckily it didn't but I got ultrasounds of my cervix every 2 weeks.
