Tips for survival: cluster feeding

posted 21st Mar
Dd starts cluster feeding from about 2:30 am, has a longer sleep at around 6:00 and then starts cluster feeding again when she wakes up at 9:00 until about noon or 1:00. What are your best tips for this?? I am still trying to get the hang of nursing while laying down, but it still feels awkward. Most days I don't even have time to eat until 2:00. SO. I'm hungry, exhausted, and don't even get me started on what my house looks like. I have to keep telling myself over and over that my supply is NOT dwindling, and that it's normal. Someone tell me I'm doing a good job and this will pass.

My son did that and i was so stressed and hungry lol i gave up and now i feel stupid for doing it when i realized i couldve probably got a sling and wore him to nurse throughout the day and been able to eat and clean etc. Im definitely investing in a sling for this one i just cant see myself doing the cluster feeding and chasing a 2 yr old without one

It does pass! DS cluster fed all the time for his first month. He's 2 months now and sometimes hes still on the boob ever half hour but usually its every hour or 1.5 hours. Mostly he does it for comfort. Almonds are my friend when DS doesn't give me time to eat

I hated cluster feeding
It gets better but it seems like it lasts forever lol
Take it day by day, relax as much as possible. I noticed when I was stressed he was more crabby and nursed 10x more, which made me even more stressed

When I start out, I'm like, "Okay. This is what is going to happen. I'm going to be nursing for a while, but it's okay. I expect it!" But around 4:00 am I'm ready to pull my hair out. Lol.

You are doing fine!! I used to keep granola bars in the pockets of my glider. Especially with the twins. It will pass. Trail mix, granola bars whatever you can munch while baby eats and don't forget to drink plenty of water!!!
