Ugh..... just sucks

I decided to join the air forcs, it would be for the best of Aiden and I both. To join I cant be a single parent, at the moment I am separated, I was served divorce papers this morning. I talked to my recruiter and as long as I am still married the day I go to basic it will be fine, I can divorce him the next day if I wish, so I am just going to put off signing the papers and everything till I go to basic. My ex tells me today that he wants Aiden while I'm in basic, bullshit! He lives in Michigan, Aiden is 8 months old he left when Aiden was 5 weeks old. No way in hell would I leave him alone with him from an extended amount of time. I already have it set up for my parents to take care of Aiden. My next option is to divorce him and remarry before basic so 4-6 months, lol

They required you to be married? My friend was going to join the army and as long as she had a guardian for the kid they would've taken her as a single mother. Do you think your husband would take you to court for Aiden because he would have a better shot than your parents at getting custody while you are gone.

I'm not giving them custody, I am going to sign power of Attorney, so temp guardianship. I talked to my recruiter and I HAVE to be married.

that doesn't make any sense, so they said you CAN'T join if you are a single mom? that cannot be right...

They dont want to take single parents, sometimes you have to go away and things of that sort. Males, yes, but from what my recruiter said no single moms
