What is this (WARNING)

This is on my armpit and it hurts so bad. I can't close my arm all the way.. I have had one before, i popped it and it left a scar. This only happens on that armpit.
What can i do for it?? It really sucks. Its all mushy and soft

Looks like an ingrown hair that got infected.

Can you pop it and drain it? Then I'd put neosporin on it and slap a band aid on it. On the other hand, if you have had this before, maybe getting it looked at would be a good idea.

What would cause a boil to get in your armpit ?

a type of boil. warm wet compresses (like soak a towel in hot water and keep applying) can draw out the infection. if you can go see a doctor for antiobiotics and if its bad enough they may do a culture to check for msra staph and all that. if it doesnt pop they may lance it for you to get out the pus and relieve the pain.

I don't know what it is, but I would squeeze the smurf out of it.

Uh... I was hoping i could avoid popping it. It hurts so damn bad and me not even touching it.

When you popped it before, did any puss drain?

Looks like a boil. My hubby gets them really bad. I recently read that if you apply tomato paste to it (Cover a glob with a bandaid to hold on) that it would help it form a head and pop

That's what it looks like. I've had one under my arm too. I eventually went and let my doctor lance it because it wouldn't pop and it was driving me crazy.

boils can pop up just about anywhere but they love areas that are dark and moist like armpits, between the thighs and pubic area. pregnancy can make you more likely to get them. and being overweight too. (the skin rubbing together in general)

Thats what im thinking about doing... I had something like that on the back of my ear lobe once from cheap earrings, and i had to let them lance it..
