Yep! Nobody is honestly 100% safe unless you look after your kid 24/7 .

It's all about you researching and covering your basis rather than just simply placing you child "anywhere". I am personally against "in home" daycares because there is no monitoring and a little too personal but that's just how I feel for my children. So I'll gladly pay $310 a week for that peace of mind knowing my children are 100% safe and loved where they are.

There was a girl at my work who did an in home one, but they had cameras in every room that she could log in from online and watch at anytime, which I thought was pretty awesome.

For sure. That sounds like a good one. The place where my boys are have video monitors too. Although they do not have a live feed for the safety of the children (in terms of the password ending up in the wrong hands i.e. pedophile) but they record all day and the parent can view the feed anytime they ask. In the front there is a huge monitor that shows each room in the building and people are always in and out so there is nothing that will not be seen.

I wish the daycare my dd will be going to had that. It is technically an in-home daycare (Montessori) but the whole bottom floor is a daycare set up...They are fully licensed though and many of them have degrees in child development which is good & they will be teaching my DD Spanish which is a HUGE plus, especially living here & my DD being half Mexican it is important for her to know Spanish.

There's no way I'd take Briant back if he did that. He wouldn't even be alive to be arrested.

I read a week or so ago this teacher from a school a few towns over from where I grew up was arrested for child molestation. He worked as an elementary school teacher. Smurfing sick.

Hence why I would go to great lengths to keep my children out of daycare, or anyone's care until theyre old enough to know when something is not right and to tell us if something weird is going on.

I consider our family very very lucky that my teenage daughter is willing to watch our toddler for us. If she wasn't here or didn't want to, we'd have to do some serious schedule shuffling.

What bothers me even more about this story is that the lady clearly knew. She caught him and continued to watch children in her home until the police showed up.

Just because the man's wife ran a daycare, it by no means indicates that daycare is an inherantly awful place.

Well researched and transperant daycares have tremendous advantages to children both intellectually and socially.

There exists plenty of elementry school teachers and kindly grandfather's/uncles/fathers who may also watch child porn.

All you can do as a parent is go with your instincts and openly communicate with your child.
