Decided to come back...

Considering my career path and my new job. I know I will need you ladies help.

I am the new 1 year old teacher for a daycare called Creative Kids. It's part of the bright from the start program in Georgia. So, I have to teach my kids things. Work on mile stones and help develop connotative skills. I am so excited about this job but I am nervous. I might need help with ideas.  

I am excited to get to know those of you I don't know and to talk to those of you I do know.

Yes mam! I have 9 of them on my roll but the most I've had in one day is 7. The only problems I am having is one kid bites and another kid climbs everything.

I have 2 one year olds myself so I know there really isn't much I can do about the climbing other than redirecting them lol.

Lol, that sounds like minor insanity. Do you have any teacher's aides or anything? And yeah, the only thing you can do with the climbing is redirect and hope they get distracted.

I've never dealt with biting, though...how does that work within a classroom?

No I am alone unless I get 10 kids or it might be 11.

I don't know how to deal with biting. If the kids bits i have to write up a bite notice to the biter and an accident form for the other. My kids bit and they get a pop but at school I can't really smack those kids lol. I try to keep the biter busy. I am teaching them to share. He usually gets mad when someone takes a toy and then he bites.
