It's both. I... A. am on my phone at the moment so it's difficult to find peer reviewed scholarly articles for you. and B. I very much don't enjoy discussing things with someone who resorts to name calling and being immature. If we had been discussing this as mature adults, I wouldnt have had a problem looking things up when I got to a desktop in a little bit. And honestly.... there you go again with the school thing. Im extremely pro gun, but I also have no problem with harder background checks. I have nothing to worry about and I dont think the average citizen does either.

This is very true! I imagine it would be pretty much impossible to gather all the guns floating around in the US. This is the problem. No wonder America has the reputation it has around guns. From this stand point I understand why so many people feel the need to have them in their homes. It's a shame really.

Some people dont even have the for protection. For some it's for sport, for some it's collecting, for some it's just culture. You're right though. there is no way they'll ever collect them all. There's no way we would let them. Since the beginning of our country, in our constitution, it's written that we have the right to bear arms. It's part of the founding of this country. It's part of who we are as a country. I dont look of it as a "shame"..... Some people took it too far and are using them things they aren't intended for, but the rest of us aren't stupid and respect them and their power.

I know some/ a lot of people have them for sport and other legit reasons. Nothing wrong with that at all. And I know there are also a lot of responsible owners who respect guns and their laws.

When I say "it's a shame" i mean for the fact that so many people feel they need them for protection because of how many idiots that are out there with guns. They spoil it for the responsible ones!

I also know I view if differently because of where i'm from so I do understand that it's not my country and yourself and others will clearly have a better understanding of it then myself. I may even view it totally differently if I lived over there.

I'm in Wyoming and I'm for stricter gun regulations. Better and more in depth background checks, including mental health screenings, assault weapons ban, because there is no need for civilians to have them and guns should be sold at gun stores only. No more walking into your local Walmart to buy a rifle or ammunition.
I don't believe guns should be banned all together, that's just absurd.
