Phew! Pinewood Derby

We finished my son's car for pinewood derby just in the nick of time. What an exhausting day! My husband cut and fashioned the thing per Adrians instructions, but then Adrian misplaced iy over spring break! after much searching today i fonally found it and finished with the sanding (really smoothed it out) over a period of three hours. We have a power sander, but for fine detail stuff like this i prefer the look of hand sanding. When Adrian got home from school today we had tonrush to complete his chores on his chart, and get homework done so that he could paint it. I helped a little with the paint job while i was cooking dinner and at ten minutes until pack time, DH finally got the wheels on. I am wishing we had weighed it before submission because it was 4 oz short of what it could have weighed- and more weight would have been better.
Oh well, it's our first year, next year we have something big planned.

Ahhh... I am just finished with my evenings chores and finally able to relax with DH in the jacuzzi. Glad today is over! Happy my son is proud of his hard work!
