re: Buying a kitchen table. Does yours have water marks?

That's good to know!! That was my biggest concern, is having a birthday party or what not and someone set a cup down just a have a big mark at the end of the party. I'm really debating. Go with the ashley or go more expensive to where I don't have to worry.

That's kinda my thought! We've been looking for a couple months. We were waiting to see what was in the new spring lines..My husbands bestfriends mom works at the furniture store and gives us the best prices she can. We just got a new set for our family room, now i'm ready for a table.

Don't forget to look at Costco and furniture row. They often are cheaper than Ashley's best sale! I picked up some "extra" furniture for the kids are at our furniture row and it is good quality. It is pretty sturdy too. My bedroom set is all Ashley but, some of the other suff is actually better quality from our furniture row. Not going to lie. I am a little bummed. 6 years ago I spent 5K on my bedroom set (mattress too). It is beautiful! However, it isn't solid wood all the way around. There are areas that are "plastic" and I also have noticed that it has compressed board with a laminate finish on parts as well. It has lasted over 6 years but still, for that kind of money that many years ago (and I always buy during sales because I am cheap like that lol), I expected better quality. I wouldn't have noticed had we not moved and the movers dinged the headboard and chipped the leg on one of the dressers.

My entertainment center came from the room store. It is HUGE. It holds a 60" tv and has 2 large ends on it. Solid wood, beautiful stain, no compressed board anywhere on the piece. With delivery and set up $1300. That was bought 7 years ago. It looks like brand new still!

Moral of the story, it always pays to shop around!

We have 2 ashley bedroom sets for the kids. They have held up well but I know what you mean, we have a few chips from when we moved as well. We purchased ashley sofas and returned them. I feel thru the bottom of the recliner we bought the same day it was delivered   I was 9 months preg. I don't feel like I'm that big that it should of done that.) I'm so much happier with the set we got instead. I think they are better with dressers and tables then couches lol

I didn't even think about costco I'll check it out!

No, it was given to us by DH's friend but i'ts really easy to stain it so that's why we're redoing it.
