What do you do with a biting 1 year old? I swear, if he bites his big brother one more time today, I'm gonna lose it! I know that he's only 15 months old and can't voice his frustrations yet and that's how he deals with it. But it's totally unacceptable behavior and he needs to be taught that he can't do it. But how???

DS has been taught "gentle". No hair pulling, hitting, etc. If he bites we say no biting, take away whatever he bit (usually toes) and take his hand and rub them and say gentle. He usually laughs, but we stay consistent with it.

Have him bite into a piece of fruit like an apple, show him the bite marks and explain that thats what hes leaving on his brother and it hurts.

He's 15 months old. He won't understand that.

This is pretty much we've done. It's a slow fix but she understands "gentle" in a variety of situations now.

I think I'll try it the next time he bites. And the way he's been going today, that will only be a few minutes from now!
