I get that this is supposed to be a joke, being the onion and all...but I don't get how it's funny.

This is my thought. I don't really see the humor on it :/.

This was created about a year before Studeville (sp?) people are saying how eerie it is that its so similar.

It's mocking the sympathy that the media seems to have given to the boys recently convicted of rape. The joke is, that HE'S the one suffering and HE'S the one needing support from his family and friends.

I think it's exactly right on, as far as the how the media has treated this case.

That IS eerie...because this is exactly what seems to be going on.

I don't have sound on this computer... but I'm assuming that's the point of it. And... love the Onion. Especially when they do smurf like this that... yaknow... isn't funny. That's the point, IMO. It's not funny that that's how the media treats these cases.

Right. It's NOT funny, but this is basically what has been said and how it's been treated in the media...at least from what I have seen.

Oh. I haven't read about that latest rape case. Smurf like that just boils my blood and makes me lose even more faith in humanity, and fear for sending my daughter off to college.

The coverage given to these CRIMINALS is pathetic.

If this was an average kid, not really popular, not an athlete, etc. he would have been raked over the coals. Instead, the huge amount of victim blaming and media glossing over the real facts of the case is painting these RAPISTS in a very sympathetic light.

They found the girl at one party drunk, they put in a vehicle with them where they sexually abused her on the way to their friend's house. Once there, they carried her inside, because she could not walk on her own, they brought her into a bedroom and they raped her and sodomized her repeatedly.

Yeah....they are such heroes.

All I was thinking when I was watching the video was about how funny it would be...if it weren't so true. That just made it SAD.
