Has anyone else had a bad experience with calling birthright?
I called for information and support (more to discuss and get it off my chest) when choosing to terminate my current pregnancy. The site/company/advertisements claims to be non-judgemental and confidential, this for me, was NOT true at all. The woman on the phone told me she was prolife and argued with me about my decision although I was clear I just wanted information.
Not only did I find her judgemental, she refused to provide me the information I needed. I called on Friday, and on Sunday, I got a LOCAL call from a registered number from a PROLIFE activist! She lives in my city and is in her 70's and told me she is one of the activists that wants to ban abortion and pickets outside of the local hospital here with signs and photos of aborted babies ect. I felt very betrayed, that was my first time trusting such an institution with anything like this and I just regret it. The woman has called back since then and I've ignored her.

Has anyone else dealt with this or something similar?

is birthright like planned parenthood? if it is id call he supervisor and report her ass

I havent heard of them but I am very sorry you are dealing with this!   What a smurffy thing for them to do!   My inbox is open if you need a nonjudgmental person to talk to/vent to.

I haven't, but I'm so sorry you had to go through that, I would definitely make a complaint and also look into making a HIPPA complaint because your confidential information was mishandled...I know it's for patients but I'm not sure how it would work in your case. I would research it because that is not right at all

i've never heard of birthright...but if it's anything like planned parenthood i would call back and ask to speak to a supervisor, and i would bitch them out & report her. that is beyond ridiculous.

I haven't heard of Birthright. But if you got her name I would definitely report her. There was no need for her to do any of that, she should have done her job & given you the information. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this.  

It's a pro-life organization. They aren't going to help you, they are going to bully you our of making your choice to terminate.

I know I went back on after and realized how pro-life they really are but when I originally called I made sure to ASK if they can provide information and she said yes they do cover that information as well as keeping the baby and adoption so I figured they just didn't publicize it like they did with the pro-life, but the confidential breach was what pissed me off the most.

I would google "Abortion providers" and your city/state or call planned parenthood

for less bias information regarding terminating your pregnancy. They should be able to tell you if your insurance covers it and if so how much of it, cost, which type of abortion may be right for you based on how far along you think you are, ETC.

I would've guessed just by their name they are a pro-life organisation. I think it's terrible they are now harrassing you, I would just tell them if they contact you again you will be reporting them to the Police. Hopefully you get in touch with an organisation who can offer you completely non biased information and a non judgemental attitude and can help you in your decision. Good luck.
