re: Cancelled car insurance

Back when DH and I first got together, he had miscommunicated with his parents. He thought they were paying 6 months in advance, and they thought he was paying 6 months in advance. When it was time to renew, same thing happened. He got insurance, and nothing happened except that he had to pay a little more for insurance each month for the next 6 months, and after that he could get it lowered again (which he did). Other than that, nothing happened with the DMV.

I think it varies by state to state. My younger sister allowed her insurance to lapse on her car. She got the insurance back a few months later, but they still suspended her license because the insurance had lapsed, and she had to pay to have it renewed.

No receipt? No check copy? No bank statement? You weren't foolish and gave the lady cash, right? If not then you have to have some sort of proof that you paid.

Sounds like a smurfed up insurance scammy too. Sounds like the agent took off with your money. What insurance is this?
