re: Not going through with IUI

Thank you all for your input, encouragement and advice. I really needed to hear some thoughts from other people, less emotionally attached to the situation. There's a lot to think about and a lot of information, there's a decision to be made for sure. Whatever happens happens, ultimately, and we will live with the outcome. Thanks again to all of you for contributing, it's really calmed me down and made me feel like I can make this choice, no matter which way I go with it.

You clearly don't understand the risks of a quad pregnancy. It is ignorant to jump into something like that.

I think you should definitely go for it

Maybe you can call another specialist and get a second opinion on the subject. I honestly wouldn't fully trust the Internet as much as I would a dr who does this every day.

Thank you, I have a few groups of women locally that have done fertility treatments, I'm hoping talking to some of them will help guide me. Thanks again for your input :]

I'm not trying to sway your choice one way or the other. I just thought you might like to hear a case of first hand experience. The IUI cycle I conceived DS, I had 5 follicles they thought would drop. I signed consents and went ahead with IUI, I was 25, and we were also working with a normal sperm count (our issue was anovulation). Obviously I can't say how many were fertilized, but DS was the only one that implanted.

Thank you. Your experience definitely does shed some light. There are statistics and chances and then there are actual stories of what happens to real people and that's what I find most helpful. Thank you and congrats on your son :]
