how?

How can I inform people I know when they arent properly putting their child in their car seat? Ive noticed a lot that parents dont have the straps tight enough or that the clip is too low. I dont wanna sound like a know it all or like im trying to judge their parenting but i also dont want anything to happen to their child that could have been prevented if i had spoke up

If I'm out with.someone I talk really loud about the subject with.a friend and most times a clueless parent will then ask me questions about it. Lol if not I just hope they heard. If I know them I straight up say something lol

If it's someone I know I'll just say something. Strangers are a little trickier. I've left notes on windshields before. Lol.

I've seen some HORRIBLE carseat setups and I have never said anything only because I don't want to deal with confrontation, it's always someone who is going to jump down my throat because they think I'm saying they're a horrible parent.

I always thought this was tricky too. I have yet to learn it. lol.

I don't get how people don't put their kids in their seats right. Everytime I buy a new one I read the whole manual over thoroughly and even go back to it when installing it even if I think I know what I'm doing. But I've never told anyone off about it :/ I figure those people don't care enough in the first place, why would they listen to a stranger about it

I share or post things on Facebook hoping everyone sees it.
I don't know how to tell someone without offending them or pissing them off.

i do the exact same thing. It seems like a no brainer why wouldnt you make sure you were correctly installing the car seat and making sure everything is safe and that your baby is properly strapped in

There are posters at the doctors office that you can't miss, some people really just don't care.

I am no way overprotective of my kids but when it comes to car seats I an. I get botched at a lot by my parents cause I ERF and don't use snowsuits in seats.

I was actually one who was told. I did read the manual but I guess I saw the strap placement drawing different than I should have. My friend told me, I was greatful. Why wouldn't someone want to know? That made me pay attention more with every manual and stuff. If someone wants to get 'offended' by concern for their kid, maybe at least they'll think about it next time they strap their kid in. My frirnd just said 'oh, see those lil dots, they have to go here with her shoulders.' I said 'thanks, can't belive I missed that. Gonna study the pics more on these things.' I think she hugged me.

If it's a friend, you could say, "You know, I used to do the same thing but did you know the clip is supposed to go up here?" Or something stupid like that so it's very non-confrontational. I see it all the time too and it drives me nuts!

I think that private feedback is the best way to go with a friend. If you do it in front of others, you risk hurting their feelings and making them feel like they are on the spot or being judged. Just say something like "I have been reading up on carseats and I wanted to show you what I read" and then explain what is the safest. Try and use a matter of the fact, conversational tone so they feel like you are just trying to help.
