sex after having a baby

its been 2 weeks since i had my baby boy and for the past week at least, i have been ALWAYS in the mood like crazy! my question is how soon can you have sex after having a baby? ive gotten really conflicting info on the internet. i had a vaginal delivery and im done bleeding and even though i had a really weird, bad tear i feel completely fine and back to normal and feel great! how long did you wait before you got intimate?

6 weeks. Did your doctor not discuss that with you?

i had a csection and waited 3 weeks and i wish i would have waited
i wasnt healed and it hurt to move and my urethra hadnt healed yet and it hurt to pee for the next 3 days

You are told to wait 6 weeks because you aren't healed fully and are EXTREMELY fertile.

I had sex 4 weeks PP, it was fine but, that doesn't mean you will be. I'd say wait but, if you're going to do it anyway, you have to be in control. Go slow, use lube and a condom, and have your SO listen to what YOU want, if it hurts, stop. Don't tough it out.

I only waited 2 weeks. Another week wouldn't have hurt... But I knew I wasn't going to wait the entire 6 weeks.

we go through army helthcare and you never get your questions answered or accurate information if at all from your dr, in fact im not even sure who my dr is now that im not pregnant anymore, so asking or talking to my dr doesnt work out very well. HELLO BUDGET CUTS!!  

There is a reason your doctor tells you to wait 6 weeks.

I waited longer than 6 weeks, but usually 6 weeks is fine.
Even if you feel ready you might not be. Usually your dr goes over that before discharging you though.

I didn't wait six weeks, it was more like 5. Normal vaginal delivery with no tearing.
I was so scared that I hadn't talked with my doctor to get the okay first.

Since you tore, I would definitely wait until you see your doctor.

Nothing in the vagina for at least 6.

Having sex so soon and risking another pregnancy or infection isn't worth it IMO.

Most doctors will tell you 6 weeks. I wanted to wayyy before then but DH said not until the doc said it was ok.

My OB told me that as long it wasn't uncomfortable that we could when I felt ready. I did have tearing with the first and an episiotomy with the second, but we took it slow and easy. We had sex at 5 weeks pp both times with a condom and everything went well  

Mine never said to wait 6 weeks. Told us to have sex when we were ready, but to make sure to take extra precautions. I waited 4 weeks with both my kids

I think it's 6 weeks, but being completely honesty I waited like 2? But mainly it was anal.

We had sex 8 days pp. Protect yourself is all I'm going to say.
