I try to. A couple of weeks ago, I took my 7 year old out for lunch and shopping since her birthday was in a few days. I try to take one of the kids with me anytime I go to the store while DH is home. I'm at home carless with my 2 younger kids but one is napping because she's sick and the other is playing on the tablet because it's more fun than I am.  

When I was working FT and dh was working PT, he was with dd wayyyyy more than I was. It felt weird to me, but we adjusted, then it all flipped back when I stopped working. It was stressful for me to not automatically be the go-to parent, but it was so satisfying to be doing my own thing too, and it made my time with her better because I didn't take it for granted.

Dd and dh are incredibly close, and I wouldn't trade that for anything. Consider yourself lucky to have a dh who's willing to do it, rather than focusing on all the noses you aren't wiping. Good chance your girls will grow up even stronger and more self-reliant because of his role in their lives.
