Heavy bleeding

posted 18th Mar
I've battled with BV for the last year. I was prescribed antibiotics a few times but it never fully took care of it. I stsrted taking probiotics a few months ago and I've noticed some change. For the last 6 months I have had very heavy bleeding during my periods. To the point I bleed through a tampon within an hour. About a week before I started my last period (about 3 weeks ago) I had random spotting (bright red blood). Here I am again, 1 week before my period and I'm spotting bright red again.

I'm worried the infection has spred to my uterus and has cause PID. Anyone have experience on this? I called my Dr this morn and they can't see me until April 12th.

I havent had that happen before but i would def call them back and tell them u want to be seen right away. I had a problem and they wanted to see me in a month and i told them i want to be seen now this is not normal and they fit me in the next week, and if they still dont threaten to go somewhere else.

This doesn't answer any questions but I am curious about what you said. I seem to keep bv when pregnant, I am pretty sure I have it now. It can cause uterine infections and pid? I had a really bad uterine infection when I was in labor and it seems like I just stay infected. My OB made it seem like no big deal.

Hmm I don't know but I would randomly get spotting about a week before my period from time to time. Never had BV or anything like that though. Could just be a change in cycles. Mine just randomly started one month

The girl on the phone was a total bitch. I asked her to have my Dr or one of the nurses call me. She said to me that bleeding wasn't considered urgent and I couldn't get in asap.

If BV goes untreated it can spread to the uterus, cervix and tubes. Untreated BV can cause low birth weight and early delivery.

I guess spotting isn't really the word for it. Yesterday I was fine with no bleeding, I had sex and midway through we realized blood was all over the bed. There was tons of it.

To me that's not normal and the receptionist u talked to should of known that. That would freak me the hell out and I would of prob been in the office to be seen. I hope u get in there and see what's wrong.

I am really worried. I've always had regular periods that have lasted 4-6 days. So these heavy periods are really a concern to me. Thanks!
