Working out and pregnancy?

posted 18th Mar
It's been so long since I've been pregnant, and I work out A LOT more now than I did my last pregnancy.

How much is too much? I was training for a half marathon and I was up to running 8 miles once a week. Do I need to stop that?

from what I have read you can do the same amount as before you were pregnant. I was running about 5 miles a day. But I've been too sick to work out lately =[

I think your doctor would be best to talk to.

IMO, as long as you're hydrated and dont feel over exhausted you should do what you can but not push it.

And careful with your joints, you may want to stretch more now.

I your body is used to it and its comfortable it's fine. You don't want start a new workout routine or do anything that is exhausting dehydrating or hurting you. Drink lots of extra water and listen to your body's cues to slow down when needed because your blood pumps slower to your brain because its supplying extra now so it's easier to pass out.

My doctor always said not to life more than 20lbs, and stay hydrated. Other than that(or anything that might put pressure on your stomach) you should be fine. But talk to your doctor first just to be sure.

I do insanity and run long distance. My Dr told me I an keep doing it all but will have to stop the insanity jumps once my joints loosen. Basically just listen to your body.

Quoting A Beautiful Disaster:" I think your doctor would be best to talk to. IMO, as long as you're hydrated and dont feel over exhausted ... [snip!] ... over exhausted you should do what you can but not push it. And careful with your joints, you may want to stretch more now. "

My first appointment isn't for another 4 weeks. I plan on asking then but I just wanted to know until then.
