Some people don't know better and if their nurse tells them to do so it really doesn't mean they should be called names. The nurse was wrong for telling her that, but how is she supposed to know. Most women trust their healthcare providers i.e. doctors and nurses.. If this women has never encountered anyone against castor oil, how was she supposed to know.

If she knew the risks and did it anyway, then she would be a dumbass. Just because you know what could happen, doesn't mean everyone else does.
Give the girl a break, its not like she said , I tried it twice, but now I know what it can do so I am going to keep drinking it until it works.

I'm a bitch, even more so pregnant, but smurf, cut her some slack.

Maybe it is me, but even if I did now much about castor oil I would have questioned her telling me to drink it. I would have AT LEAST gone home and researched it a little before taking it, twice! So you may think I am being harsh but there are babies that have been harmed by it...so that is my only concern.

True and I get your understanding on worrying about the baby. BUT calling someone names doesn't help them either. Maybe she felt her nurse was giving good advice and she didn't feel she had to do any research since it was recommended! Most women by 40 weeks, actually by the 8th month want to pop out that baby anyways so alot will do many things to induce labor. I know I'll try and eat pineapples and have sex to get this baby out when the time comes! If it happens it happens. I probably would have even tried castor oil if I hadn't done my research doesn't mean im stupid. If women feel it worked for another why not try it for yourself! She might not have advice from any other source but her nurses/doctors. Thats why she came here!!! For help not put down...

All she had to do what type "castor oil" in the search bar right here on BG...she is NOT the only person to get smurf for it...and not the only person whoever got called a name. I stand by the fact that ANYONE that takes that stuff while pregnant is a dumbass. Hate me if you want....I don't really care.

Not everyone gets on this website for every question. Can you imagine if people only went by the advice they got off the computer instead of asking their doctor?
It's actually logical to listen to your provider over some website where women without degrees offer up advice. Like I said before the nurse may have been wrong, but it doesn't mean she is a dumbass because she didn't get on babygaga for her medical needs or questions.

Umm...yes I have done things wrong in my life, of course. But I never did anything during my pregnancy to harm my baby. If you don't like what I have to say...don't read it. It is a public forum. It is my opinion after all. And I am entitled to it just as much as your are to yours.

Lol oooooooo I've done things wrong!! I fall alot (ouchies) Forgot to take prenatal pills (they are nastyyyy) lie on my back sometimes (although after a while I cant breathe!!! lol) sooo since I did something wrong during my pregnancy that could harm the baby I am a dumbass too. YAYYYYY for us dumbasses...   HAHAHA please NO ONE IS PERFECT!!!! She came here for advice not for someone to talk sh*t. Ok, listen...you have like 13 posts on this site...if you think I am a bitch for calling her a dumbass (for taking castor oil), you have a lot to learn about BG. Also, are you seriously going to compare sleeping on your back and missing a prenatal pill to taking castor oil!!?? That isn't even close to being the same. When you take castor oil your baby can have a bm inutero which they can swallow at birth or breath in. Which can make them have respitory problems for the rest of their life. All because mommmy couldn't wait a few more days or less for the baby to come. Is her discomfort really worth it?? How is that the same as you missing a prenatal pill or sleeping wrong??
