Cat scan?

posted 17th Mar
Okay so my DD has some issues we think MAY be neurological. It's hard to tell since she's so young but they're seeming to get worse over time. Her pedi brushed it off at first but now DD is showing all the "bad" signs. So tomorrow at her 6 month check-up we're going to ask again and hopefully DD does it there.

But SO said he thinks they will and should do some type of scan to see what's going on. Would they do this right on the spot after or during a well check? Or would that have to be rescheduled? And do they even do that this young? (She'll be 7 months in a little over a week)

I'm just concerned for her. And I want to know what to expect in general, even if they don't do it tomorrow or anything. Because it seems scary to think of her having to do anything like that. I don't know it's all hard to explain I'm just nervous something could be very wrong. But I'm also scared to look incredibly stupid if they tell me it's nothing.

What signs are there?

And most CAT scans are done at hospitals, and babies would have to be sedated in some sort of way, so I am betting that you would have some time before they would actually do that.

They sedated my son when he was 4 months so they could do a CT scan. they'll probably want to do it as soon as possible so that they can get it out of the way quickly.

We live in a weird area. Our Dr's IS the hospital. We can walk right down the hall from the pedi and get to the ER, or right upstairs to the hospital rooms, and down the hall from there is L&D. All in one haha.

She twitches a lot, and hits herself in the head. But now her arms twitch a lot in front of her and she doesn't seem to notice or care. She started only punching herself during feeding. But now it's a lot.

How did he take it? I'm so afraid of this.

My daughter had a CAT Scan done at 7 months. They didn't sedate her, just had me stand by her and keep her focused on me.
The doctor had scheduled a separate day for the scan at the hospital.

How did it go? The thing is our hospital and office is all in one. I'm kind of nervous they'd just do it all in the same day. But obviously if it's busy that isn't always possible. But it's not always very busy where we live.

It went perfect. She didn't move an inch.
I had to wait a little over a week before I could get DD an appointment. The waiting was hell since both her doctor and the physical therapist were saying she really needed to get one done.
Hopefully you'll be able to get in the same day.

I kind of hope it'll be the same day. But I also hope to wait (not months or something, maybe just a week to prepare). But it's good it went so well!

I'm willing to bet it will be scheduled for a later date. Portage NEVER schedules anything for the same day unless it's emergent. Hell I have to schedule Ks pedi appointments months ahead of time, and he had a hearing test done and that was scheduled for a good few weeks later.

Yeah, before smurf was always available it seemed like. Now Aria's stuff is always booked ahead. At least a few weeks ahead, Dr.Colleen seems to have a lot of people. That kind of makes me feel better. I don't even know if she'll need one but SO says he hopes they do whatever they can to figure it out. Of course I want that too. It just makes me nervous if it's going to have to be something like that.
