she was born with 2 holes in her heart one of witch closed one did not and most of the time they let them go because its not a big deal but with my husbands mom's medical problems she still has to see them....But had they see calcium deposit's on her heart i would have had to deliver at All childrens and she would have went to the NICU or ICU.

Yeah, so did I....with my daughter, she was diagnosed with a tumor that, for quite a bit of the pregnancy, was larger than her head, along with multiple organ defects and yadda yadda yadda. It wasn't so much that I cared what it looked like, but I wanted to know what it was, where it was, everything that was effected, etc etc etc. We were told she had a 0% chance of not being stillborn...she's 5 now. We've had a lot of surgeries to keep her here, but....dammit, ,she's here and that's really all that matters.

Yeah, they wouldn't let me see. It pissed me off. I'm paying for their services. If anything, they should've let me see to ease my mind, but no. Even my OB said it was BS.

Agreed. I think they need to realize that they are hired to perform a service...they need to do it in a manner that makes the client comfortable. For some people, it's seeing, for others, it's not seeing, and they need to find stuff out before they dictate what we are or are not "allowed" to do. I can understand if it is something that is going to be harmful, but denying information regarding your pregnancy?? Not ok!

Right. I even asked if I could see and the tech said, "no, not today." I almost went off, but I contained my emotions. I had spotting and cramping after my last 3 pregnancies ended in miscarriage. I just wanted to know my bean was okay, but that was too much to ask.

I feel that they should let you see the screen since it is your body & your baby. That's my opinion.

It will kind of really make me mad if I'm not allowed to see the screen especially knowing that this is something that could potentially harm me. Sure, I have an appointment the day after but still. I do not want to be stressing out for 24 hours wondering if my baby is in my uterus or on my ovary. I want to get it taken care of like asap if it does turn out to be on my ovary because I'm only going to be 21 years old & I don't want to lose an ovary or tube.

Yeah, I agree, they should let you see, but that's not always the way it works out. If a tech is doing the scan, they're not allowed to diagnose anything, so the doctor has to review it first. I think that's one of the reasons that some women can't see - because the tech can't say for certain one way or another.

Very true. hopefully they can at least tell me if my baby is in my uterus or not though. The 24 hour waiting period after is going to drive me absolutely insane. I already have anxiety so this is just making it even worse for me.

Oh, I know. The first several weeks of my pregnancy were nerve-wracking, because they were monitoring my HCG and progesterone closely. I absolutely hated the waiting game!

Yes, at birth they noticed it was all his organs as well, I would have died if I had seen what it looked like on ultasound before talking to a dr. The dr had to talk to us and prepare us I guess before he showed us on ultrasound, I threw up and was hysterical for about half an hour, u could see everything just *out*

One of my really good friends has a daughter who will be 2 this year that was born with her organs outside of her body. If I remember correctly, i don't even think she knew that was wrong with her daughter until her final ultrasound.

I understand, but as a tech they can't explain or tell u anything about what they see, especially when they see sometthing abnormal, a tech isn't going to be able to explain wtf if all over the place inside me, lol they can only report to the dr. what they seen and what was abnormal, I got sent straight to a specialist, next day after that 12 week ultrasound,
If I had seen what dean looked like durng the 1st ultasound I would
have been so obnoxious with million and 1 questions that the tech would never be able to explain the way his dr was able to

I was kind of like that, and the tech just told me that she couldn't answer anything but would be setting me up to see the doctor as soon as possible. If I started to ask, she just reminded me she couldn't diagnose.
