i'd go in, it sounds like the beginning of something really bad, like animoiua(sp? :s)

I had this last week, my ribs and sternum actually hurt when i beathed from having such a dry cough. Vicks really helped. After the first few days it started to break up and actually have some mucus which was such a relief.
I don't think you have to make a trip to the dr unless it keeps up for more than a week.

Um... Do you mean pneumonia?

Op, if your chest hurts, I'd go in. Could be an upper respiratory infection.

I have no fever but my daughter also has a cough, took her to the ped for it a couple days ago and the doctor said it was just a cold but she woke up today with a 103 fever

I should also add I had a fever too. Doesn't always mean you have to go to the dr. Like I said before I'd ride it out a bit if you can, sounds like its just this nasty cold that's going around. My whole family had it. But it didn't last more than a week.
