shots advice?

posted 16th Mar
Ok I don't want a debate but I do want to know a few things

How can you not give your baby/kids shots and them go to pre school or day care or school without vaccines?

What are the reasons for not doing it

What are the reasons for delaying it?

Ava has had all of her shots on time but with this baby were thinking about delaying I was just wondering if I could get some facts.

We didn't due them due to personal beliefs and the fact that both DD's father and myself have had bad reactions to shots (seizures and such that neurologist confirmed were due to shots). She doesn't go to daycare, but when it comes to school we can get an exemption form for it.

yeah i remember being threatened with that too as a kid. If your shots weren't UTD. But you can find the forms online for you state, and find out what the laws are for it.

You can claim religious reasons. Most places will not ask for proof...otherwise, I'm pretty sure they are required.

As far as delaying or selective delaying...reasons vary. With my oldest, she had all her shots on time, and then had to have them all over again because the hospital she was seen at lost her records, and they wouldn't accept my little booklet without that. After that fiasco, we decided to delay our younger two until it was getting close to time for them to start school.

Yup that's all you gotta do. If you live in a few of the lucky states that allow personal reasonings due to not vaccinations you just find the affidavit get it notarized and tell your dr you are not vaccinating. If you are in a state like I am there is only medical and religious reasonings behind nonvaccinating. We do religious even tho I am unaffiliated

Well I know the drs office I'm at atm only allows shots on time and she's the only doctor in this stupid town that takes us seriously and can always see us same day if dd has a problem she gets sick a lot. So its convienet but if dh changes bases I hope to find a dr that allows delaying

The schools here REQUIRE you have ONE round of shots, that's all.

Many places have new "exempt" forms that you can fill out. Most public schools have that avaliable at registration. I am not sure about preschool. My girls are up to date. We chose to vaccinate so I am not fully versed but I do know that with all the controversy that happened a few years back when they thought that vaccinations were the cause of autisim (found false), the public schools in our area did start offering an exempt form that parents filled out. I believe that the childs pedi had to sign off on it as well. basically saying that the child was healthy and was regularly seen. It tells the schools that the child is properly monitored and that parents aren't not taking their children to the dr and just filling out the form to get away from paying for the shots.

If you say no shots that means no shots. You can get the required paperwork yourself off websites and get them filled out yourself and once they are notarized they are legal documents
