Postpartum bleeding. TMI

Just wondering about postpartum bleeding and what is normal. My daughter is 1 week old and is my 2nd child. However, I can't remember from my first lol. I had pretty heavy bleeding at the beginning for probably 3 days as well as terrible after pains. They slowed down and for the last 2-3 days, I've just had discharge that is a little bloody but looking more like old blood. However, today I started getting period like cramps(not the same as what my after pains were) and started bleeding more again. Not super heavy or anything but it is bright red again at times. Is this normal?

it sounds normal, i remember being told id pass pretty large clots and it would be heavier than a period... if its of any concern id call your OB and ask because everyone is different.

I bled for 2 1/2 weeks. I also had hemorrhaging after I had DD, dunno if that contributed to how long I bled, probably not.

Ok thanks, I knew I bled for a while the first time, just couldn't remember if it kinda stopped and started like this.
