That a baby born under 5lb always has to go to the NICU?

No. My son was born at 3.14 lbs and went home when he got his weight up to 4 lbs. It depends on the hospital.

Not at all. I'm an RN in a nursery and we've received 3 lbs 13 oz. the rest of their systems have to be in good working order, though!

Same with my dd even though she was born at 38 weeks and healthy

I didn't know she was born at 38 weeks..so was Carson haha that's funny that they were born on the same day too. What was your due date?

Haha yeah!! November 1st! It was literally barely 38 weeks!

i was 36 weeks

It might be a policy for some hospitals.
