how long on the potty?

When you potty trained you kids how long did you make them sit there for?

I'm impatient, I'd sit them down for 5 minutes at a time.

I never MADE her sit on it.

I would ask if she thought she had to go. If she said yes, then she would sit for 2-3 minutes, until she wanted to get down. If she peed, great! If nothing happened, great!

I think forcing them to sit for any length of time is a terrible idea

I never make my kids sit on the potty. I let them sit when they want to. And they get off when they want.
My oldest was trained in a week just after her second birthday.
My little one took 3 weeks to potty train, also just after her second birthday.

mine is over 3 and no where near potty trained. She has to be potty trained for school and idk how to speed up this process

Maybe she isn't ready to be potty trained?

I just kinda let Cora do it herself and we never had to battle or get frustrated. She's had 5 "accidents' her entire life, and one was when she was sick so I don't count it.

Ask if she wants to try, or if she thinks she has to go. Just follow her lead

Forcing her to sit wouldn't be a good idea. She will go when she is ready. Just think that she won't be in diapers forever.

Have you tried sticker charts? 6 stickers = a prize.
Let her go without a diaper while at home.

Also when first potty training, give plenty of liquids so they have plenty of chances to pee in the potty throughout the day until they start to tell you on their own.

well you see the thing is she doesnt wanna wear a diaper anymore. Shes peeing everywhere except the toilet lol. She takes everything off in the middle of the night too.

Do you make her clean up her own messes?

You said she is over three. She is old enough to take her sheets off, put clothes in the laundry, and wipe up messes.

She drinks alot but I guess Im not too good with timing
