SUVs, who has one?

Short version of a long story:
I was injured, almost killed, while a passenger in a car crash due to a drunk driver. Now flash forward and the insurance company settled the claim.
I have been driving a 2000 Dodge Neon and would really like to get a nice newer car for my family (my daughters car seat barely fits in the car and I can tell its uncomfortable for her). Looking at the different models and stuff is insane though. The Cadillac SRX looks awesome and isn't a bad price when a year or so used.
My question is what type of car do you have and are you happy with it?

I have an Infiniti FX 35. So far I've liked it. I'm thinking about trading it for a new Explorer since I hit 100k miles.

I have a Buick rendezvous. I love it. It gets decent mileage for a bigger vehicle. And I have a normal one but if u have the $ there's an edition with third row seating and 4wd. Wish I had that one but for now ours is fine cause I have enough space for my two kids and for dd1 to have a friend along and fit all three car seats comfortably.

I drive a Chevy Impala. It's not an suv, but it's really spacey. Not to mention the safety ratings are pretty dang high.
I have a 1 1/2 year old, with another on the way..and I will surely have enough room for two car seats and some groceries, not to mention the huge trunk as well. I have almost 200,000 miles on it and it still runs like a champ. I'm thinking of getting another one once I drive this one into the ground. It's also great on gas!

The only problem with cadalliacs is that they're super expensive for parts & to get fixed (SO is a mechanic). For SUVs I like envoys because they're smaller & still have the 3rd row seating. We have a huge suburban with the 3 row seating & 4wd but its a gas hog. As for cars I love saturns (I got into a car wreck & mine was completly totaled & smashed in. I just came out with some bruising)

That's how my Malibu was. It was huge!!! I went from a mini van to that and thought I'd die losing the can space and I didn't even notice a space difference besides seating. The trunk was HUGE. I even drove 5 adults (counting me) down to a conference 2 1/2 hrs and we all survived riding in it.

I like the Infiniti, but was also looking at the Audi and BMW. It's crazy how the "luxury" brands you can get for the same price as a Ford, Chevy, etc. as long as its a year or two old. I don't mind that or some mileage (no more then around 20,000). The only thing is with every model there are like 6 different versions of it. Researching to buy a car is driving me nuts lol

Yeah, that's why I want to get a pre owner certified one with a warranty. I'm not sold on the Cadillac yet either.
My dads a mechanic too and I haven't talked to him yet but when I was younger and got my first car I remember him telling me "only civics or corollas or a saturn". He said the because the parts are cheap, abundant, and the cars last forever (mine was totaled in the crash but had 240,000 miles and was still running perfectly).

My mom has a Chevy Trailblazer that we've borrowed a few times when our Blazer was being worked on and it's really roomy. We'd get one in a heartbeat if we could. It is a bit of a gas hog though.

Yeah SO won't let us get anything foreign because he hates working on them

You seem like you are looking out of my price range, but I just got a 2010 Hyundai Santa fe. I used to have a 02 2 door Honda civic so its a huge upgrade. I got it for $17000 and it had 30000 miles on it. Its awesome for us. It has the space of a truck but drives like a car.
...but its still a Hyundai lol

Our civic is over 250,000 and still going strong. We had a bout last summer where we had to put like $1300 into it because a few things all went wrong at te same time and they were expensive things. but it saved us from another car payment. I can't complain about that, except it sucks trying to fit car seats in it we were able to get the girls' car seats in but we can't he a third one in we have to take my car when dd has a friend.

Yeah it's nearly impossible for us to change just the headlight on our civic haha. Can't get your damn hands in there.

I'm not a fan of how expensive they are to fix. lol. We already have a BMW car and a diesel truck that are expensive to fix so I'd like something with a factory warranty I can run to 100k again then trade. lol.
