UN weaning my toddler?

posted 16th Mar
I stopped nursing ds2 at 6 week due to lack of support. he is now 27 months old and is developmentally delayed, gets speech therapy, and developmental tutoring. He is also being monitored and tested for the autism spectrum. I have convinced so of the benefits of breast feeding and i now have the support i needed to feed my newest babe. Now so is convinced i need to re introduce breast milk to our little guy. What are your thoughts?

I dont think its terrible to try and breast feed him but I do not believe they will help change any development. Just my thought though.

I see no issue with it. Its not a cure-all, by any means, but it can't hurt.

Pump and offer it in a cup?

It's probably be easiest to put it in a cup.

  agree

Putting the BM in a cup may be more successful than trying to BF him again too

I think once they're weaned, it's almost impossible to re-introduce it. Especially with him being 2 already. :/ Maybe ask your doctor?

Sorry, i meant to add that i would be pumping and offering in a cup. He's not eating a while lot and the nutrients could help him get what he needs. Also so was hoping it would help with his brain development.

Why do you think that? generally once toddlers see there siblings nursing they take great interest in it.
If he wants to nurse then feel free to try op, remember his teeth will feel very different then you newbs mouth, in the mean time the cup is a great idea. Im not all to sure what it will do for his delays but it will be a great immune boost for him. goodluck!

I don't really know it's just what I've been told. At least nursing. I've never heard of reintroducing it through a cup though, it sounds like a great idea.

he's too big for BF. If you really think breastmilk will help him, pump and put it in a cup. However, as wonderful as BM is it is not going to change the issues your son has. It can cure pink eye, but not developmental issues.
