My son walked in on me in the bathroom one day & saw my maxi pad. He now calls them mommy diapers. I was mortified he saw it, but I covered myself as soon as I saw his face.

I think men are going to be a bit more protective over their daughters.

I think a trip to the book store is in order! lol Someone sent my son a gift card to get a book, so I'll let him pick 1 out and I'll scope some out as well on this subject.
I read additonal reviews on it & one person said it was pretty detailed & that he felt a 4 year old didn't need to know a woman/girl has a clit.

I wouldn't pull my kid out of school, but I would ask they be excused from the subject. I have no problem teaching my kids about sex in an age appropriate manner at 5 or 6 IF they have questions. However, I'm not OK with them being forced to learn about it at that age. 4th grade? Ok. we all did. by 10 kids are starting to or getting ready to hit puberty and should know. Kinder? we have a few years to worry about that and should just enjoy the finger painting.

it really seems like they didn't by the extreme over reaction. lol

I'm okay with it. I'm open so it probably wouldn't be new to my kids... I'm not the kind of person to pretend that sex doesn't exist.

I think it's a great idea, honestly! I'm pretty open about that kind of thing, so DD will have already heard about it from me or SO at some point before Kinder anyhow, so I think a reinforcement of what she'd already have learned would be wonderful. In this day and age, with the amount of pedophiles and molesters who are in this world now, I want my child to fully know about her body, and good touch, bad touch, what to do when someone bad touches you, etc.

I am completely for sex education across the board; however, I do not like how it is usually taught in the public school system so I will making sure my daughters have correct facts, understand how contraception works, understand how their menstrual cycle works, and know how to prevent pregnancy and STIs.

The best contraception we can give our children is knowledge.

ETA: Sex is an open thing in my house. My 7 year old has had a watered down version of menstrual cycles and sex. She's even aware of what abortion is...because she asked.

I have no problem with teaching "good touch and bad touch" and private parts and the general, proper names, but that's about it.
We are open about those matters here and i realize some families will never "teach" and may never answer questions appropriately but i dont think it is the schools responsiblitiy to go beyond age-appropriate basics for safety.
