Touching belly...

posted 16th Mar
I am only 10 weeks pregnant, but already I am concerned about strangers touching me. I am not comfortable with it. Is anybody else in this boat, or were you? I am barely showing and I am nervous.

Tell them if they touch you, you will rip off their arm and puke them with the red end.

I never had any issues with it last time. I do have more people groping my belly now, even though I know them I don't like it. But I just smile and bear the 1-2 seconds of contact.

I only ask because those who know me would never guess that I would not want to be touched. I am the most open, silly hippie they know! haha. Either way, I only want to be touched when I give the ok. Thank you.

I never had any issues with anyone touching my belly without asking first except my FIL. Some people have this idea in their head that a woman's pregnant belly is public property. I tend to think that if someone were to touch my belly, I would just grin and bear it because it's easier to just let it slide than to cause a scene.

I like it though... Thank you. I have been waiting for this moment since I lost my first over 10 years ago. I should allow others to relish in the moment with me. I guess I have some things to consider...

I have a shirt I wore most of my pregnancy that said "Belly Rubs $5.00"
Sure them touching your belly won't be any better, but you will get monetary compensation for it

That's how I look at it too. They are just happy and excited too. As long as they don't linger I don't bother saying anything. I have told people "ok that's enough" and pulled back before. But overall it is a little pat or quick rub and I figure if I care about them I should expect them to care enough to want to express it. If that makes any sense lol

It was never an issue for me. I don't show until the 3rd trimester. I always wanted someone to ask me when I was due when I was obviously pregnant and do the blank stare and say "i'm not pregnant, what are you talking about?" I'd do something like that if possible. the whole foot in the mouth look of panic is priceless

I only had 2 people I didn't want going and touching my belly ALL the time...my mom, the reason being she like pinched it to get him to move and it hurt like a mofo. And some random lady at Target came up and started talking to me and rubbing my belly...freaked me out
For my mom I joked around telling her she wouldn't get gramma privileges if she kept hurting the momma...then told her it seriously hurt and if she was gonna feel my belly don't bruise me.
The lady at Target my SO jumped down her throat telling her we had no idea who the sm*rf she was and she had no right to touch my sm*rfing belly. lmao We got asked "politely" to leave the store

Eff that I would have been "Make her leave!" and threatened "assault" charges to teach her her lesson not to grope a stranger.

And my husband wants me to do what you said too lol. I have tons of people still finding out I'm pregnant, and it kind of hurts to think they just think I'm that fat   I prefer to think they just don't pay attention lol
